Big second half pushes MNU past Evangel.

Oct. 2--The MidAmerica Nazarene University offense kicked into high gear against Evangel University and turned a 28-21 halftime deficit into a 49-31 victory Saturday.

The Pioneers improved to 5-1 on the year and rolled up a school-record 702 yards against a defense that had allowed only 13 points per game.

"I know as coaches we're never satisfied," MNU coach Jed Stugart said. "But I was extremely happy with our football team this week."

After struggling the week prior against William Jewell College, MNU quarterback Matt Schneider bounced back.
