Oct. 2--Olathe schools will use National Banned Books Week as a learning tool.
"We want students to know that they are lucky to be able to read what they can read," said Lori Franklin, the head library media specialist at Olathe East High School.
Olathe East's library media specialists put up a display this week that lists banned books and which ones are available to Olathe East students.
"They go and look at the list, and they can't believe some of the books that have been banned," said Lorissa Reeves, an Olathe East library media specialist.
