Oct. 2--Alec Wieczorek, 15, a sophomore at Granite Hills High School, has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He did his Eagle Scout project at Mojave Mesa Elementary School, where he attended 4th and 5th grades and both his parents have been teachers.
Alec decided to re-paint the sidewalk dots that lead to the playground and library from the entrance gate. He continued the dots to go to the cafeteria and the kindergarten wings. Claudia Schmitt, Mojave Mesa principal, suggested that footprints also be painted from the kindergarten rooms to help guide the 5-year-old students safely to and from the office.
