Oct. 2--Random thoughts for a Tuesday morning:
--The playoffs will be hard-pressed to match that wild wild-card playoff.
--Props to Colorado fans who never stopped chanting MVP for Matt Holliday, who knew he had something in him even after he misplayed the fly ball in the eighth that allowed the Padres to tie the game.
--Between the commercials and studio work, Cal Ripken Jr. is going for another Ironman record during this postseason.
--It's only right that umpire Mike Winters isn't going to the playoffs, since the Milton-Bradley-less Padres aren't going either.
--Great day for Oakland fans on Sunday. Raiders win. A's win. 49ers ...
