Oct. 2--LATHROP -- A wild night of pumpkin stealing turned into a corn maze chase for a group of teenagers Saturday.
Several people in a GMC pickup were spotted about 7:30 p.m. Saturday driving around and swiping pumpkins from the patch at Dell'Osso Family Farms, 950 W. Manthey Road in Lathrop, police said.
When they were spotted, the driver tried to get away but instead lost control of the vehicle and ended up in a ditch. The occupants got out and ran into the corn maze, where police lost sight of them.
"We don't know where they went. It's a big corn maze," Lathrop police Sgt. Patrick Withrow said.
