Oct. 1--Neighbors opposed to a proposed $1 billion mixed-use complex in DeKalb County have spent hours campaigning for their cause outside local supermarkets, coffee houses and even Adams Stadium during high school football games.
Tonight, for at least a few minutes, they can show off the fruits of that labor when they hand over a 1,100-signature petition asking the DeKalb County school board not to sell property to the project's developer.
"We feel like the growth in this area is going to require additional school space, regardless if they need it now or in five years," said Bill Lide, who helped start the petition about a month ago and ...
