Oct. 2--Bangkok Air Catering Co (BAC), one of three inflight caterers at Suvarnabhumi Airport, has embraced Halal food in a big way to appeal to carriers from the Muslim world.
Run by a Swiss manager with just a few Muslims among its 416 workers, BAC has become the first caterer at Bangkok's new airport to secure official Halal certification from the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand (CICT).
BAC, part of the Bangkok Airways Group, says the certification, which was obtained through stringent auditing procedures, should help attract business from airlines popular with Muslim passengers.
