Bruins' Harrison hopping happy: New serve technique serves libero well.

Oct. 2--Rock Bridge senior libero Alex Harrison's "hop-footer" serve will be subject to ridicule no more.

Harrison, who learned the jump serve at an offseason camp in Nebraska, has slowly been working it into live matches. With the Bruins on the verge of breaking open Game 1 last night against Eldon, Harrison decided to go for broke.

"I usually only stand and serve," Harrison said, "but I decided we had a big lead, so I'd take my risks and try it out."

Using a hop more than a jump, Harrison served a pair of aces, which sparked an 11-point run as the Bruins served the Mustangs off the court in a 25-12, 25-15 victory at Rock Bridge gym.
