Toyo Ink breaks ground in Bryan.

Byline: Janet Phelps

Oct. 2--A Japanese ink manufacturing company broke ground on a $20 million facility in Bryan on Tuesday, ending a year of negotiation between city and company officials.

Toyo Ink Manufacturing Co. will create 20 full-time jobs with a gross annual payroll of $1 million at the local plant by the end of 2008, according to John Higgins, financial head of Toyo Ink International Corporation.

The groundbreaking comes after a year of talks among officials with Bryan, the Research Valley Partnership and Toyo Ink, according to Mitch Morehead, a member of the Research Valley Partnership board of directors and former member of the Bryan Business Council.
