Women mixing golf and business.

Oct. 2--On most Emerald Coast golf courses, business deals go down left and right amid the drives, putts and chip shots.

And there's often not a woman in sight.

The Okaloosa-Walton College Foundation is out to change that Oct. 29 with the first-ever "Leading Women Golf Tournament & Symposium."

"Men do a lot of relationship building on the golf course," said Sandy Sims, co-chair of the tournament. "Women don't have that."

The one-day event will mix a nine-hole scramble and formal golf instruction with a workshop presented by executive coach and business owner Jennifer Whitaker.
