CF woman rehabs injured bald eagle.

Oct. 2--CEDAR FALLS -- Linda Nebbe has nursed wild animals back to health for the better part of three decades.

But on Sept. 21, she took possession of a bird she had never previously cared for -- a bald eagle.

The reason Nebbe has never rehabilitated a bald eagle in the past has nothing to do with the bird's ability to avoid injury or its relative scarcity in the area. It actually has more to do with the bald eagle's removal from the endangered or threatened species list on June 28.

"Before it was removed from the list, the federal government would have stepped in and taken the bird somewhere else," said Nebbe.
