American soccer's better half.(US women's team favored to repeat as World Cup champions)

The US is not a power in men's soccer, but the women's team, winners in the first World Cup for women in 1991, are decided favorites to repeat in Sweden in June, 1995. Backed by sponsors and federal funds and featuring the best college players, the team averaged nine goals per game in qualifying rounds.
