WHEN Jamie Foxx became only the third black man in history to win an Oscar, the actor received a standing ovation from his Hollywood peers.
He fought back tears as he accepted the Best Actor award for his role as Ray Charles in Ray, thanking his recently deceased grandmother, who brought him up, and his 11-year-old daughter Corrine for telling him that, even if he didn't win, he was still great.
Since winning his Oscar, Jamie has joined the acting A-list, commanding huge salaries for roles in Jarhead, Miami Vice, Dreamgirls and The Kingdom.
