Caring for an ailing, elderly parent can be enormously draining, whether Mom or Dad is staying in your home or you're the main family member visiting them at a care home or nursing home. Experts offer these suggestions:
_Recognize your limitations. Don't expect to be super care-giver.
_Join a support group. Talking to others in similar circumstances can help.
_Don't be embarrassed to ask for help.
_Whatever the parent's condition, try to read as much as you can about it. Knowing more can help you cope.
