AKRON, Ohio _ An investigation into three missing 14th-century manuscript pages from the Vatican Library is widening, as Vatican officials plan to examine all of its holdings handled by an Ohio State University professor.
Meanwhile, federal agents Tuesday seized records from an Akron rare book dealer who said he was asked to find a buyer for the documents.
Anthony Melnikas, 68, an Ohio State art history professor, is at the center of the case that stretches from Rome to Columbus to Akron. He hasn't been charged with any wrongdoing; his attorney, James E. Phillips of Columbus, said Tuesday Melnikas has done nothing criminal.
