Oct. 2--"I got one!"
Wearing a Spider-Man T-shirt and camouflage shorts, 5-year-old Alex Reyes of Beaver Dam scooped out Malaysian prawns Saturday morning along with other children.
It's a slippery, muddy and meticulous occupation, but the results of owning a shrimp farm during September through mid-October are delicious for the Morgantown community, home to Springwater Shrimp Farms co-owner Charlie Stuckwisch and his business partner, Richard Dye.
Kentucky boasts nearly 30 shrimp farmers, according to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
