Oct. 2--MOM-AND-POP LOOKING FOR NICHE IN SAVANNAH RADIO MARKET: Savannahians who tune in to 1400 on the AM dial are in for something a little different. The former gospel station is the new home for classic oldies from crooners such as Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, Michael Buble and Tony Bennett.
Part of the MarMac Communications family, Star 1400 isn't looking to be another Top 40 station. Owners Gary and Sharon Marmitt believe they're filling a void in the market.
