Workshop: How to share files and printers
1 You'll probably need to turn on file and printer sharing on each PC, and configure the Windows firewall to allow the sharing protocols used. In Windows XP this can be done by running the Network Setup wizard, which you'll find listed under Network and Internet Connections in the Control panel. On a Vista PC make sure your network location type is set to Private and that network discovery, file sharing, and printer sharing are turned on from the Network and Sharing Center.
