When TiVo and ReplayTV first came to market with their digital video recorders way back at the turn of the century, we started to wonder, "Will the next generation of children know what a TV commercial is?" Now, with all the major networks--and many smaller ones--offering free, ad-supported streams of their programs online, we have to wonder if, rather than asking what a commercial is, kids will instead be asking "What's a TV set?"
The possibility was pushed to the forefront this week thanks to announcements from both ABC and NBC that more of their goodies will be available ...
