Oct. 6--Most San Antonians are probably familiar with Culligan from seeing the company trucks around town or from hearing the company's catchy line, "Hey, Culligan Man!" But they might not know that the Culligan dealership near downtown has direct ties with Emmett J. Culligan -- the original Culligan man.
Bob Boerner, president of San Antonio-based Culligan Southwest Inc., is the grandson of Wilbur L. Walton, who teamed up with Emmett Culligan to form the first Culligan franchise in 1938.
