Article: AMTRAN REPORTS APRIL INCREASES OF 36.2% IN AIR TRAFFIC AND 7.8 POINTS IN SCHEDULED SERVICE LOAD FACTOR

INDIANAPOLIS, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Amtran Inc. (Nasdaq-NNM: AMTR) today reported that its April 1995 traffic increased 36.2% to 812.9 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) compared with the same period last year. Available seat miles (ASMs) for April 1995 rose 29.5% to 1.1 billion compared with April 1994. Block hours flown for April 1995 were 11,098, a 28.0% increase.

Year to date RPMs increased to 3.0 billion, up 34.2% over the same period last year. Year to date ASMs increased 35.6% to 4.3 billion compared with 3.2 billion for 1994. Block hours flown rose 35.6% to 43,616 for the first four months of 1995, compared with 32,165 for 1994.
