It was quiet yesterday at Waters Farm in Sutton, and not in an everyone-is-at-work way.
It was quiet in the way it must have been quiet 50 years ago. Or 100 years ago. Or 250 years ago, when the farm was built.
An empty wooden stage faced a few rows of empty bleachers just behind the rock wall leading to the farmhouse. In the field across Waters Road, the poles and string that delineate parking spaces went on for hundreds of feet.
But the farm will certainly be bustling at the 28th annual Waters Farm Days fall celebration, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday.
