Oct. 7--BRIDGEPORT -- That there is a house on the corner of Linden and Myrtle avenues on the University of Bridgeport campus that might surprise even those who passed the spot regularly.
The small blue house with chipping paint and a broken roof was enveloped by a mass of trees and bushes until chainsaws recently hacked it away.
Its occupant, Justus van der Kroef, a professor emeritus died on Aug. 19. He was 81.
"I was in the house the other day. There's one room just full of paper, his works. Books everywhere, floor to ceiling. Mostly stuff he wrote," said Hans van der Giessen, an associate provost and dean of arts and sciences ...
