Oct. 6--Key West Community leaders gathered at the Radisson conference room Thursday afternoon to workshop ideas to convince homeowners to temporarily convert their market-rate units to affordable housing.
The upshot for the owners: Temporarily deed-restricted homes would mean lower assessments, which would mean lower tax bills.
Landlords and renters attended the event hosted by city Housing Coordinator Paul Clayton and generated discussion for the first of what will likely be many similar workshops to come.
