Oct. 6--Monroe County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Patricia Dally knows from experience that DNA can solve a crime.
"We've had a couple of successful cases," she told the Keynoter Thursday, "back when DNA testing started to come into effect. Back then, you needed a gallon of blood to get a test, though. Now you just need a bit of hair or bone."
The Sheriff's Office is teaming up with the FBI, the county Medical Examiner's Office and the sextons of local cemeteries to solve some very cold cases with the help of DNA testing.
