Article: GMOS : INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENT TO FACILITATE TRADE IN TRANSGENICS.(Codex Alimentarius Commission)(Genetically engineered foods)

The Codex Alimentarius member states(1) concluded in late September an agreement to facilitate trade in agricultural and agri-food products containing traces of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The agreement, negotiated in Japan, is expected to be made official next July, by which time the FAO will have put in place its cornerstone: a database grouping all authorised GMOs planet-wide and the scientific studies relating to each.
