Oct. 8--In 1999, James Lifshutz bought and developed an old Cadillac dealership on Lexington Avenue and turned it into the Cadillac Lofts, one of the few residential settings in the northern area of downtown.
Today, it's still one of the few, but Lifshutz said he developed the lofts where he did because of the area's future.
"I saw it for the potential that it has, namely that it's in a close proximity, and in fact walking distance, to most of downtown," Lifshutz said.
