Higher royalties could end Cedar Rapids man's international radio hobby.

Oct. 6--CEDAR RAPIDS -- Every day, computer users around the globe tune into the Atlantic Sound Factory, enjoying John Draper's blend of classic rock music performed by American and British artists.

The Internet radio station, started about 2 1/2 years ago in the basement of Draper's Cedar Rapids home, has developed a loyal following that approaches 2,000 listeners at peak periods of the day.

What started out as a hobby costing as little as $20 a month for music royalties has blossomed into an $1,100-permonth venture that could face extinction if sharply higher music royalty fees are imposed.
