AUSTRALIAN ENGINEERING CO THIESS SIGNS US$445 MLN COAL MINE DEAL
BRISBANE - Australian engineering and services provider Thiess will take over operations at the Meandu coal mine from next year, in a A$500 million (US$445.9 million) deal signed today with Queensland power company Tarong Energy.
It follows Tarong's decision to take over the mine, near Kingaroy, in the state's south-east, from Rio Tinto Coal Australia.
