AROUND MISSISSIPPI -- The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has reported five new human cases of West Nile virus (WNV). The new WNV cases are in Adams, Forrest, Scott, Smith and Stone counties.
Since April, a total of 13 WNV cases have been reported in the state. Cases have been reported in Lawrence (one), Walthall (one), Madison (one), Jones (one), Scott (two), Rankin (three), Adams (one), Forrest (one), Stone (one) and Smith (one) counties.
The MSDH also has reported additional mosquito pools in the state have tested positive for WNV. The pools are located in Hinds and Forrest counties. A ...
