NEW YORK -- Digital photography has revolutionized how and where images are displayed as the industry has moved beyond conventional prints and slides over the last several years.

According to a survey conducted last year by the Chicago-based market research firm Mintel, 12% of respondents who developed or printed digital photos also purchased greeting cards and photo albums with their digital photos on them. Smaller numbers of respondents placed their images on such personal objects as puzzles, mugs and T-shirts.
