An intelligent control plane has been introduced over the SDH cross-connect network of Telefonica, a telecomms operator, in Spain, by communications solutions provider Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris:ALU) (NYSE:ALU), to enable the evolving of automatic traffic provisioning for enhanced network protection, operation and maintenance.
