Telemarketer to hire 200 as it lands work for Harrah's.

Oct. 9--Telemarketer West Corp. has landed Harrah's casino hotels as a new client and plans to hire 200 new employees for its Universal City service center to handle the increased workload.

Starting pay for the jobs will be $9 an hour, with an additional 50 cents an hour paid to employees who arrive at work on time.

"Growth at West's Universal City location continues to be very robust," said Vanessa J-Douglas, West's divisional director of human resources. The Universal City location has 600 employees now, part of West's 2,600 employees in the San Antonio area.
