ZBA rejects Main St. senior housing.

Oct. 9--ANSONIA -- A nonprofit agency is weighing its options after the Zoning Board of Appeals rejected its plan for a seniors-only apartment complex on Main Street.

"There's no place to park on Main Street for 37 cars. That's no good," ZBA member Ray Foster said following the panel's 4-1 vote Friday to reject the Main Street Development Corp.'s proposed 4-story, 18-unit apartment building at 218-220 Main St.

The plan had been considered for several months before the ZBA decided the apartment complex was not adequate for the city's downtown, in part because there were not enough parking spaces close to the building.
