Oct. 9--BRIDGEPORT -- A female was killed and three more people wounded when gunfire erupted on Carroll Avenue near Connecticut Avenue late Monday night.
The female appeared in her early to mid-20s, said police Capt. Brian McCarthy, East Side Commander. He didn't immediately know her name.
The three others, whose identities also were unavailable, were being treated in Bridgeport Hospital, he said.
Police recovered a rifle that may have been used in the shooting, McCarthy said.
Officers responded to a reported street fight at 10:30 p.m. at Carroll and Connecticut avenues, in the East End, when they heard numerous shots fired, he said.
