State recall issued for toy robots.

Oct. 9--MILFORD -- After finding high lead content in decorative paint used in toy robots, the state Department of Consumer Protection issued a recall today for the toys sold in Westport, Darien and Kent.

The Mini Wooden Robot X-7, imported by Milford-based Galt America, were sold at Learning Express stores in Westport and Darien, and at Toys Galore 'n More in Kent.

There were 36 robots shipped to stores, according to the company. "The tests we ran on these small robot toys found that the paint contains unacceptable levels of lead," Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell Jr. said in a press release.
