BRIEF: Konarka part of $4.7M research deal.

Oct. 9--LOWELL -- Konarka Technologies Inc. said today that it and another company have been chosen to conduct research and development on transparent, flexible solar modules for windows and other building integrated applications.

Konarka, a former UMass Lowell incubator company that's developing a material called Power Plastic that converts light to energy, and publicly-traded Air Products were awarded $4.7 million from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, under its Advanced Technology Program.
