Oct. 9--PELHAM -- It seemed like a natural fit.

When Fire Chief Michael Walker got a new Dalmatian named Rocky last month, he would often bring him to the fire station.

The 2-year-old pooch quickly became a mascot for the department, making an appearance at Old Home Day and even going on a couple of calls with Walker.

Now Rocky may never see the inside of the station again.

When Town Administrator Thomas Gaydos found out Rocky was spending time at the station, he told Walker to keep him at home -- at least for the time being.

His reason: Pelham does not have a policy on whether animals are allowed in municipal buildings. Gaydos ...
