Acre board's election seen as vote for director.

Oct. 9--LOWELL -- The results the recent Coalition for a Better Acre board election have dealt a setback to those critical of CBA Executive Director Emily Rosenbaum for firing two agency employees earlier this year.

Nearly 360 ballots were cast for nine seats on the 15-member CBA board. Lowell City Councilor Jim Milinazzo oversaw the voting. The pro-Rosenbaum slate of candidates carried the day.

"I believe that the Acre residents spoke at the election," said Acre resident Maribel Aviles, 47, the election's top vote-getter. "We have a wonderful director this year. I think we're going to make a difference now."
