Eduardo Alfaro, well known in south Florida government finance circles, died Oct. 3 at Cedars Hospital in Miami. He was 62.
Mr. Alfaro retired in April 2006 as treasurer of the Miami-Dade County School Board, the fourth largest school district in the country.
During his 21-year tenure with the school board, Mr. Alfaro was responsible for the issuance of approximately $3 billion in school district debt as well as cash management and investment services. He served as interim chief financial officer in 2003.
