Oct. 10--Both the Amador Valley and Monte Vista high school girls volleyball teams took a while to reach full speed in their East Bay Athletic League contest at Amador Valley on Tuesday.
At first, the passing wasn't precise and the spikes often tailed out.
But by the third game, both teams were flying -- and they kept flying until the Dons (16-2, 4-0 EBAL) eked out a breathtaking 23-25, 25-23, 25-17, 21-25, 15-9 victory.
The Dons' win broke a three-way tie for first place in the EBAL, leaving just Amador Valley and Foothill undefeated at 4-0. Foothill defeated Livermore 25-9, 25-19, 25-11 Tuesday and hosts Amador Valley on Oct. 16.
