Hawes set for surgery on left knee.

Oct. 10--SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento Kings rookie center Spencer Hawes will undergo arthroscopic surgery today on his left knee in Seattle.

Seahawks team physician Dr. Lawrence Holland, who operated on Hawes five years ago, will perform the surgery. The Kings have not given a timetable on his return.

"He will be evaluated after the first procedure," team spokesman Darrin May said. "I can't tell you how long he'll be out because I'm not a doctor. All I know is he's having arthroscopic surgery performed [today], and we'll take it from there."
