National Fuel warns of higher heating bills.

Oct. 10--Get ready for higher heating bills this winter.

National Fuel Gas Co. is predicting that an average customer's heating costs could be nearly 10 percent higher this winter than a year ago because of slightly higher gas prices and a return to more normal temperatures after two straight years of unusually warm winters.

For an average customer, that means heating bills that total $1,070, or $95 more than last season, for the five-month period that stretches from November through March.
