Avera St. Luke's will build a two-story, 54,000-square-foot building at the corner of First Avenue Southeast and South State Street.
A small crowd gathered Tuesday afternoon for the ceremonial groundbreaking of the Avera St. Luke's State Street Medical Square.
The building should be ready for occupancy by fall 2008, Avera St. Luke's Hospital President and Chief Executive Officer Ron L. Jacobson said in his welcoming address.
Aberdeen Family Physicians will be the anchor tenant and occupy a significant portion of the first floor, according to a news release.
