Oct. 10--BUCKAROOS AND BUCKARETTES -- some in denim, plaid shirts and cowboy hats -- came to the Orpheum Theater's 80th birthday celebration Tuesday night for a good time.
The Riders in the Sky provided it.
An audience of 1,480 was treated to an evening of cowboy music, poetry and humor by a harmonious quartet that will mark its own 30th anniversary in November.
Another birthday got top billing, too -- that of Gene Autry, who starred in Western movies from the 1930s into the 1950s. Autry would have turned 100 in September.
Riders in the Sky celebrated Autry's centennial year, opening with "Back in the Saddle Again" and closing ...
