Oct. 10--When the worstcase scenario happens, the Mobile Field Force teams are the first to be called.
On Thursday, practicing with realistic scenarios, two regional teams of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department special units honed their skills at the Fairgrounds, said Cindy Beavers, spokeswoman for the department.
"Mobile Field Force is a rapid-response unit designed for rapid deployment when we have times of rioting and civil protest or we need to put a lot of
deputies on scene in a short period of
time," said Capt. Lance Clark of the Hesperia station, who also serves as commander of one of the regional teams.
