Oct. 10--HESPERIA -- Like many parents of artistic, busy children, Denise Griffin spends a lot of time on the road shuttling her daughters to different activities.
"You end up eating a lot of Del Taco," Griffin said.
Denise and her husband, Hesperia High School teacher John Griffin, thought there must be a way for children involved in the arts to practice their crafts and still have a home life.
They also saw an educational void in the High Desert, where after-school programs and some elementary schools focus on the arts but there is no dedicated secondary school where these students can continue.
