St. Paul developer's plans may include city's first Trader Joe's gourmet grocery store: Developer won't say for sure, but size fits gourmet grocer.

Oct. 10--A St. Paul developer is planning a gourmet grocery store selling beer and wine at a Highland intersection -- sparking concern from business owners about the competition, and among neighbors fearing increased traffic and a markedly changed view from their front doors.

The plan also has the Highland and nearby Macalester-Groveland neighborhoods buzzing with speculation that the grocer could be Trader Joe's, the fast-expanding chain known for cheap organic and specialty products and $3 wine.
