Oct. 10--A: Tell your employer the law. The Minnesota Human Rights Act, like the federal Americans with Disabilities Act, requires employers with 15 or more workers to make a reasonable accommodation to employees and job applicants with known disabilities. The state law goes further, extending "reasonable accommodation" to include limitations or disabilities related to childbirth or pregnancy, says Steven Lapinsky, lead investigator at the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.
