Oct. 10--Art aficionados in South Washington County have long wanted a permanent site to showcase the work of local talent.
Now, they're hoping to make that dream a reality at the new East Ridge High School, set to open in Woodbury in 2009. Arts supporters are trying to drum up donations for a 10,000-square-foot fine arts center attached to the school's 900-seat theater.
Michelle Witte, president of the nonprofit Arts Connection based in Woodbury, said a partnership with the school district makes sense. Local artists finally would have a home where they could train, rehearse and perform, while students would benefit from the additional ...
